June Bugs and Road Trips

Have you ever ridden on a train? If your answer is no, then you really missed out! We learned a lot about trains and the routes through and to and from Oklahoma. The train ride was a real treat after our tour of the train museum.

The tornado sirens sure have been blaring. We pray you all are safe and have peace of mind and body. Reach out to us for SSPs so you can shop for those necessities to prepare for storms and summer fun. Tay hydrated out there!

Storms can remind us of forces that are stronger than us. Read Psalms 93:3-4. “The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. 4 Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty!”

Recipes Please

We’ve heard so many diet ideas going around from juicing to cutting breads and pastas. Whatever you choose to do to balance health and the attack to munch, be sure to do it in balance. Hydration is a key component. Not Gatorade, but good old fashioned high quality H2O. The stuff the dinosaurs were wading in. Yep! Water. We all need it without negotiation. Be safe and take care of yourselves.

We would love to have your summer recipes. Email them to us at humanresources@shep-ok.org.

Here’s a fun summer kabob recipe; In a bowl, mix together 2TBS of olive oil, 1TSP Kosher salt, 1 TBS vinegar, 1/2 TSP of black pepper, 1 TSP of garlic powder, 1/2 TSP of dried oregano, and use it to coat the veggies: button mushrooms, large red peppers, red onions, and unpeeled zucchinis. Then stick them on the skewer sticks in a pattern and grill them. Yummmm!
