Details: Deaf Focus' Kidz Kamp is a weekend-long, overnight, camp for kids who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, have Deafness in their family or are interested in deafness and sign langauge. The weekend is full of fun activities including swimming, canoeing, zipline into the lake, the famous BLOB, hiking, a movie, campfire, and lots of fun, games and learning. Overnight lodging in air conditioned cabins and meals are provided. The weekend ends with a performance for parents.

Are there age requirements to enter the event?
Kampers age 4-14 are welcome. Students age 15-17 can register as Junior Volunteers. Jr. Volunteers learn leadership skills by helping the younger kampers in activities and at meals. Kamper may be Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Hearing. Knowing sign langauge is not a requirement to join kamp. BUT don't be surprised if you learn some signs while you are here!
Do you have to be deaf or know sign language to be a kamper?

What are the requirments for Volunteers and Jr. Volunteers?
Due to limited space this year, if you are interested in either being a volunteer or Jr. Volunteer, you will be asked to submit an application and letter of interest. Applications will be reviewed and a limited number will be selected to participate. Volunteers with sign langauge skills will be a priority. Adult Volunteers will need to have a backgrounds checkat thier expese and pay a $100 fee to offset the cost of meals and overnight accommodations.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parents need to arrange transportation to drop off and pick up kampers.
What can I bring into the event?
Bring bedding (sleeping bag) pillow, pillow case, etc., at least 2 towels (one for swimming, one for bathing), swimsuit, beach shoes, tennis shoes, comfortable clothes, sunscreen, etc. See complete list on registration packet.
